Pentesting, short for penetration testing, is a simulated cyber attack on your system by a cybersecurity specialist, with a dedicated scope.

The simulated cyber attack is designed to uncover vulnerabilities in your network, applications, or devices. Which the cybersecurity specialist then documents and produced a report at the end of the cyber attack.

Essentially, it’s an ethical hacking method used by businesses to test their defenses against real-world attacks and to see what vulnerabilities they contain.

The primary aim is to identify these vulnerabilities in a system before cybercriminals do, allowing organizations to patch these flaws and bolster their cybersecurity posture.
